Well designed aquarium, great for young kids The Maui Ocean Center is well worth a visit and has a very good mix of exhibits both inside and out. My favorite is the honu (green turtle) pond where you can get up close and see the turtles being fed. There is also an amazing tunnel you can walk through and see sharks swimming all around you. The size of the aquarium is just right for young children as they can see all the exhibits without tiring out. Two other unexpected surprises at the aquarium are the gift shop and restauran... read more

a wonderful tribute Great place to pay tribute to the wonders beneath the sea. This place has everything an aquarium has and also has outdoor pools with starfish etc. One of the best in the country.

Up close and personal view of sea dwellers. This is one of the top five attractions to experience on your visit to Maui. It isn't as large as its mainland conterparts but is an excellent example of what you could see snorkeling along the coastline of Maui. Children and adults will be entranced by the exhibits. PROS: Turtle pool, tunnel through the shark tank. CONS: None

Maui Ocean Center If you love fish, you will love Maui Ocean Center! Go here and bring your whole family, this place is actually pretty educational for the little ones. You can even touch animals here, which is pretty awesome. This tourist attraction, if you can call it that, is actually pretty expensive. My favorite part of the center was the turtle pool.

fish...fish...fish My 6 year-old absolutely loves this aquarium. Since he was 6 months old we have gone there at least 15 times. I regret to not purchasing the year pass. His favorite attraction is probably the shark area. He loves sharks or anything with sharp teeth. My favorite attraction is the "touch pool" where you can see and feel sea urchins and other sea animals in their own environment. All of the attractions are not only fun, but they're also very educational. Next to each display are fun facts and games to learn a... read more

Ocean The Maui Ocean Center is a wonderful place to see sea life up close. The huge fish tank has a clear glass tunnel that you can walk through. It made us feel really close to the fishes. The gift shop was wonderful.

Beautiful Aquarium You need to visit this while in Maui-it is a great educational experience but give yourself plenty of time. Tropical fish galore and inside and outside exhibits. I loved the turtles!

Awesome Hammerhead Sharks After a few great days at the beach we'd thought we'd mix it up a little and head over to the aquarium. Overall the Maui Ocean Center is a great place to take the kids. It's a bit dinky but there are two great fish tanks that make it worth while. The final tank with the 8 ft. tiger shark, hammerheads and huge rays is incredible. It's one of the best collections of fish I have seen in an aquarium. And hold onto your hat -- this is one of the windiest spots on the island. PROS: Sharks, hammerheads, ra... read more

Fantastic I was pleasantly suprised with the Maui Ocean center. I enjoyed how they separated each exhibit in layers of the ocean (high, mid, and low). When you come around the corner and the Ocean tank comes into view, it takes your breath away. It was also very cool to see the green sea turtles and hammerhead sharks in the outside open tanks.
