Awesome place to be for great food, excellent drinks while watching your favorite sports team and the best company when it’s just 1... John the bartender along with the rest of the staff, Adan & Adriana the hostess
I like to eat lunch here, the food is good and reasonable , basically a neighborhood bar , with a dining area in back , nothing fancy about this place but very comfortable, a lot of the diners in this area are a ripoff and the food is bad so you are better off eaten in this place.
Sunday brunch was fantastic. We also enjoyed the live jazz.�
A hidden Oasis on Eighth Avenue just a bit North of 55th... good food, serious drinks, TV, and a congenial mix of people... a good bet all around!!
Exactly the kind of bar my husband and I were looking for. Quiet and real. We had great conversations with the bar tender John and plan on going back again the next time we do NYC.

My friend and I had a relaxing and delicious meal here tonight. The ambiance was warm, it wasn't too loud or overcrowded, and we received excellent service!
I have nothing but good things to say about our experience at mats grill. We had brunch there and it was fantastic. The mimosas were perfect, coffee was hot and steak and eggs out of this world. Never been there before this but is at the top of my list for my next visit in the city.
