Dr. Tong himself was excellent—professional, attentive, and reassuring throughout the process. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for his office staff. Despite having our pre-op appointment two months in advance, they failed to submit the procedure for insurance pre-approval, leaving us in the dark about our financial responsibility. On the day of the procedure, we were required to pay the full amount up front. Loved Dr. Tong and his team during the surgery. It was surprisingly pleasant explaining every step of the process. The insurance coordinator wasn’t very helpful after I asked a few questions with no call back. They required I pay the full amount and then they would file insurance but then told me they wouldn’t file insurance if I was paying with Carecredit. There wasn’t even a discount with UHC dental insurance. I loved Dr Tong so I’ll continue to go.because he is excellent!
My 9 year old needed 6 baby teeth pulled per her Orthodontist due to her teeth being very cramped. Our dentist wasn’t able to pull them because my daughter has major anxiety when it comes to the dentist and we knew laughing gas wasn’t going to be enough to pull 6 teeth. Our dentist referred us to Dr. Tong for oral surgery so it could be done under general anesthesia. Dr. Tong and his entire staff are amazing. I have dental trauma and had to take my daughter to get her wisdom teeth removed, one that was cracked, and a biopsy done on her cheek from where she chewed it up. This was her first time with anesthesia or any kind of surgery and this was, by far, the best dental experience ever. I highly recommend Dr. Tong and the Summerwood office for any of your oral needs.
