I went to see Dr. Gerstein when I was extremely uncomfortable with double stents from kidney stones. He and his staff (Michelle was great) really worked to get me in the schedule quickly for the next procedure (original surgery was done by another Dr). He is a great listener, compassionate, and very calming. He explained the procedure he was going to do very well and made me feel very comfortable. Just a great and nice Dr.

Not a pleasant experience with the Practice. First the Dr. wanted to do an in-office biopsy because my PSA score went from around 1 to 3.7 over a 18-month period. Everything I read highly recommended an MRI be done in conjunction with the biopsy. When I question the doctor, he said a lot of insurances d does not cover the MRI. The fact that I was not provided the option was a concern. we agreed that an MRI / biopsy would be performed, and my insurance did cover the MRI. Dr. Gerstein accurately diagnosed my condition and carefully explained my treatment options. I had a definite feeling that he was working with me, not just telling me what course to take. I have continued my association with him for 10 years and appreciate that he takes adequate time, no feeling of being in a rush, and also that he engages in back and forth conversation, rather than just “talking at me.”
I'm a pretty new patient for Dr Gerstein, so I don't know how much weight my opinion holds, but first impressions are that he's very knowledgeable and very willing to explain procedures and diagnosis in detail to his patients. I felt like I had his full attention during my appointment and he was willing to answer any questions.
I have been associated with Dr. Gerstein for over 5 years. I am on a maintenance / annual visit to prevent future issues. Dr. Gerstein and his staff are top notch. They all show care and concern about me. Dr. Gerstein makes the time for me and makes sure all my concerns/questions are answered. I highly recommend Dr Gerstein and his staff.
He takes the time to talk to you and answer your questions. He has been taking care of me for six years in February 2021. He is honest and tells you why he is treating your condition the way he is. I feel very confident in dealing with him. If I could I would give him ten stars.
