Dr. Kopera was referred to me as one of the best orthopedic surgeons in my area. I went in for a consultation and was disgusted by the way in which he speaks with others. He came across as arrogant and rude. I was shocked by his positive reviews. I respect that he is intelligent and revered in his field, but that does not excuse such callous disregard for bedside manner.

I have only seen Dr. Kopera on one recent occasion. While I must assume he is a competent physician, I found him to be aloof and condescending. I have been a patient of (and undergone three surgeries by) a colleague of his in this particular practice and found this other physician to be just the opposite, i.e., highly knowledgeable, explains well, friendly, etc. Perhaps Dr. Kopera could learn from his technique.
Dr. Kopera saved our vacation!!! I had meniscus surgery 2 years ago. Recently I have had a lot of pain and stiffness in the knee. My knee would lock up and I had a tough time walking. I called Dr. Kopera's office and the day before vacation, Dr. Kopera did a thorough exam of my knee/leg, gave me a shot of cortisone and an anti-inflammatory. My knee feels like new and our vacation was amazing!!
My RT leg was swollen to 3x normal & had pain that felt like twisting w/painful knee-joint popping. He took a few x-rays & said all the symptoms were just arthritis & bursitis! It took my regular physician to say all this was not arthritis & MRI needed. The results were a torn meniscus and torn cartilage!!! Shame on Dr Kopera for not being the one to know arthritis doesn't cause all that & for the undeserved bill. The NEW orthopedic I'm seeing is far better with manners, treatment & diagnostic!
Excellent experience, always thoughtful and caring, always takes time to understand the problem and then explain both the issue and the treatment options. I have recommended Dr. Kopera to several of my friends, and will continue to do so.
Dr. Kopera's bedside manners are excellent, he is caring, kind And compassionate. He explains everything thoroughly, listen well, and shows concern. Also he has a great deal of patience. THANK YOU DR. KOPERA!!! About his staff, they are fabulous. Cheerful, caring, concern. You could not ask for more!
No bedside manner. I was there with my husband for a second opinion on a chronic problem. Dr. Kopera made us both feel like we were his time.
