I was not thrilled with this visit. The DNP provider I saw came into the exam room with 'her' plan of care for me. I relayed that I had reservations about her plan, and enumerated them to her. Unfortunately my concerns and opinions had no bearing on her plan. It was a 'my way or the highway' situation. Dr Matthew Barker has been my #1 Doctor since I began all my Doctoring 8-10 years ago!! The head nurse of the entire Avera McKennan Hospital, realizing my dire straights (especially leaking everywhere I went) asked if she could send me to a unique Specialist, Dr Matthew Barker in Urogynecology. I said "YES"!!! I need help!! In the first meeting with Dr Barker, he discovered that right off I had not had adequate care. Dr. Baker and his entire staff addressed my issue with grace. He himself is all business, direct, honest and confident. I appreciate straight forward and I ask questions directly as well. I had tests, surgery and spent the night. I went home the next day at 1pm as scheduled. I was really pleased with how I was cared for. My healing process was complete without any problems.
