Sitting at the bar is the worst experience at this restaurant. Smug and rude old Japanese owner and his anti social young sous chef ruined the atmosphere

Matoi Sushi is my favorite traditional Japanese restaurant in Coquitlam. I have enjoyed this restaurant for over a decade and a half. I have enjoyed many a dinner or lunch here and will always go back. Always popular and busy.
