Excellent visit. Patricia Mathias was very attentive and compassionate. She did a thorough exam and went over my MRIs, explaining the indicated problems. She provided assistance with setting up an appointment with a MUSC neurosurgeon.
Rude and insensitive. Went in to talk about a sensitive issue I am dealing with and she brushed it off, and said maybe my symptoms are coming from nightmares. Then proceed to say they don’t deal with what I have “at all” which I don’t understand when they are neurologist and spine doctors. The condition I have is what they deal with. She basically tried to tell me my symptoms aren’t from what I’ve been diagnosed with and tried to link it to something else outside of the neurology department. Dr.Mathias is very rude. She told me she would reach out to me about my results.She did not. I sent message to her office. For a professional doctor she did not speak professional. Am not saying what she told me . I would not recommend this doctor to nobody.
I first met Ms. Mathias in March 2021 in conjunction with a visit with Dr. Varma. I was immediately impressed with her because she did exactly what she said she would - a novel concept these days. Thereafter I saw her to help resolve a problem I was continuing to have. She again listened carefully and helped me make informed decisions.
