Nice ambience but that's IT. The front door staff are dry and unwelcoming. It's now a trendy eatery in Chicago so it's naturally busy and so they can care less about whether patrons will come back or not. As someone who has experienced all if not ALL steakhouses in Chicago, I can attest to the sub-par food quality of this establishment, it is not bad, but it is not great. One of my very favorite restaurants. I adore the scent as I enter, the lighting creates amazing ambiance, the high tops with a short distance to music, the oysters, the meat, the Super gulp size martini that's done with perfection, combined with how they make a customer feel.
Will be there for lunch
Several issues with our $500+ meal at Mastro's. Mistakes on our cocktail order, steaks overdone and no offer to correct. Politely written complaints to corporate headquarters and forwarded to specific location via OpenTable yielded absolutely NO response. How can that be possible?
