The Dr didn't listen, and instead offered me a psychiatrist. He tried being kind and failed horribly as he told me "being an empath", and sensitive to people was my problem..that problem being unable to eat and losing over 80lbs in a yr and a half. I left in tears and hopeless on ever feeling better.
Never talk to anyone on the phone, they tell lies to other doctors, and they don’t call anyone back after leaving a message. Very unacceptable!!’
MGH GI is a top tier institution and has done an incredible job managing my Crohn's disease. Dr. Burke and her care team (shoutout Melissa Cohen, RN) are always extremely responsive and easy to reach, removing an often arduous obstacle within the care process. I never feel rushed with Dr Burke and appreciate how she takes time to answer my questions and explain concepts in easy to understand terms. I would highly recommend the MGH GI team!
I am a medically complicated patient and transferred my post-transplant care here from another Boston hospital. Out of the hundreds (if not thousands) of healthcare professionals I have interacted with over the years, my gastroenterologist here, Dr. Bhan, is by far one of the best, if not THE best.
