I presented in the middle experiencing of pretty severe panic disorder symptoms and was given advice and platitudes I could expect to find on a podcast or self help book. I have since seen a different psychologist and realise how inappropriate her methodologies and approach were. More apt to describe the therapy received here as life coaching than psychotherapy.
Very helpful and caring
I saw Tamera after being diagnosed with an eating disorder and depression when I was 18. Instead of getting to the root of my issues, she offered weight loss tips and suggested I try to cut calories and increase exercise. When I would explain my feelings of depression she didn’t offer much empathy and simply said “what do you mean you have a hard time with [activities xyz]? Just get up and do things” I can’t believe I paid for this.
I was not pleased with her she really didn’t get deep enough or let me totally explain what was going on . I will never go back and when I left I was so angry that I wasted my time . Sorry I am a very easy going and open to all types of opinions . She is probably a really good therapist but she wasn’t for me
