My fiancée had what can only be described as a “complicated” gallbladder surgery. Her original attack was in July 2025 and, due to the infection, had a drain inserted with a 12 week or so duration. The complication occurred when she had a stroke two weeks later. Recently had surgery at Stafford, an outpatient procedure, and the experience was great. From the waiting room where my wife could see the stage where i was in surgery to the staff, it was a very positive experience. The staff made us feel comfortable, shout out to Rita, Stuart and Charles. And of course a big shout out to my surgeon, Dr. Schlafer! Dr. Schlafer’s personality and approach let me know i was in good hands.
Dr. Schlafer is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Really great bedside manner, relatable, and helpful. Not pushing surgery just because he’s a surgeon - definitely supportive or exploring all options.
