Overall an excellent job. Some logistical issues can create occasional issues with wait time. The vast majority of the care team are professional and kind. I've only run into a few rude and unprofessional individuals in the many years I've been going to the facility. Many of the problematic individuals were pharmacy technician I've spoken with on the phone. I'm not sure where they are, perhaps working from home or some centralized location. I would like to file a formal complaint against this healthcare system and have requested call backs from both the management in the ophthalmology/surgery department and the psychiatry department. 1st my fathers surgery appointment was canceled or never scheduled yesterday and we were never informed. What was scheduled was a post op for the next day… that we assumed was the surgery date after multiple calls to the clinic to confirm. It's a small Veterans Administration facility. Most of the staff are accommodating. They are understaffed by high quality professionals who truly care about individual patients. They provide the minimal care necessary. They are restrained by the current political Administration of government. My experience has been they move at a very slow pace, the urgent care department is the only area that seems to want start healing rapidly. No follow-up concerns seem to apply from any department.
