Financial Rapists – I moved to the marquis three years ago because of how great its location is and how spacious the apartments are. The community is great...young adults...proffesional...great pool. When I first moved in I met so many folks who had been there for years...they are all gone and I'm about to be too. The marquis is very sneaky. They lure you in with a great deal and then when its time to renew your lease they raise your rates by at lease $80 and give you ten days to agree or get out. Richardson Renter Beware!!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE – Beware. Do not move here. We were supposed to move in Aug 1 yet when we got here with a loaded truck the apartment was not ready. We had to stay in a Hotel for a week until apartment was ready. When we moved in nothing that had been promise had been done. More promises were made. Bugs, Dog Crap and Rudeness all rolled up in one complex – Unfortunately, apartment living is only as good as the property management that runs it. This place has a great location BUT that is all it has going for it. Run their name on the internet and see all the negative remarks from prior tenants dating back as far as 2005. Leaving Unhappy – My husband and I have lived here for two years. We loved it here so much we even referred a couple of tenants to them. However when we found an affordable home that we loved they were unwilling to work with us. Not even a consideration of our history with them or our situation. To break the lease it's 2 months at Market Value + What Ever Monthly Discount (Now a days you can get between $200 - $400 below MV, $500+ if you work there). Under Investigation for Rent Increases – I recently moved from the Marquis on Edwards Mill due solely to the 20% increase in my rent. I had a one year lease at $1000 for a two-bedroom. I never missed payment (in fact, I had an auto-debit set up for monthly withdrawal from my checking account) and never filed a complaint or had one filed against me as a tenant. This company practices bad business, horrible moveout experience – I am a normal, clean, individual who used to work in the professional cleaning industry, I know what cleanliness standards are for moving out. Yet, this company charges you for things that are legally considered "wear & tear" by CO tenant law (and send you to collections). They tried to charge me for FULL clean, after I had spent 2 full weeks DETAILING the place.
