Amazing bread, Tastiest Calamari – I love how close this place is to my house and how affordable it is. I love all their paninis and seafood dishes! They have a nice cozy patio where you can watch all the people go in and out of the near-by theatre. It's also a nice place to take a date =)
Mediocre Food & Amateur Service – Took the family here for our anniversary dinner last night, and it was simply awful. The food was overall very bland. I ordered the trout. It arrived grilled -- no flare, but not overcooked. It was served with inedible potatoes and a lump of spinich that I haven't been served since childhood. Great experience – I went to Market City Caffe for the first time last night. I was in a party of 5. (Tuesday around 6:30) The table we were seated at was very comfortable for the size of our group. First we ordered a pear salad, and I believe it had some sort of sweet raspberry dressing. One salad was a great starter for us to dole out and share. Also got the flower blossoms. Good or really, really bad depending on the dish. – I have been dragged to Market City several times. The menu is either good or really, really bad. Sometimes the food is excellent, sometimes it is downright awful. The lobster pasta is dull, the salmon is good. The cheesecake tastes homemade, the peanut butter and chocolate tart should be banned. The service is good. The restaurant is pretty, but the tables are too close together.
Consistant Terrible Service – I don't mind the food here, but they just can't seem to get their servers to pay attention!! I don't know WHY I keep going back, because the 8 times or so that I've been there i've wanted to complain about the service. Many times I have had to get up and get my own vinegar/water/bread. I've walked out at least twice because no one ever came around to get my drink order when I was sat. If ONLY they would work on that, it would be great.
Good Italian for a reasonable price. – Pretty good light Italian food and nice place to and talk. It's a great lunch spot to come hang out with co-workers.
Good, Good – Restaurant's Interior Decoration and Atmosphere is great; relaxing and casually romantic. Service is welcoming and friendly. Food is above average, but not outstanding. Complimentary bread and water is delicious. Food ranges from 8.95 to 14.95 for a good dinner plate. Overall, reviewer will attend restaurant if looking to take a date to a quick, near-by, casually romantic restaurant. Grade: B
One of the best in Burbank – This is one of the best restaurants I've found in Burbank. Now having just moved here... I know I have a lot more places to try, but Market does just about everything right for a medium priced italian restaurant. The food seems very well prepared with layered and interesting recipes. As mentioned elsewhere the bread is really good too. There is a good variety, and while service can be mediocre if they are slammed, overall that has been great too!
Good Value – Restaurant offers pleasant italian ambience with good value and good service for your dollar.
