I had to reschedule my appointment two times in a row because I work in retail and his office hours never lined up with my availability, he personally called me and chewed me out loud enough over the phone that my coworker overheard. It was a follow up appointment for my prescription he had refilled for me, I never went back. Terribly unprofessional, my husband called back and ripped him a new one.
I seen an urgent care dr. due to a lower respiratory infection and Dr. Sokka told me he could no longer see me as a patient because I went to the urgent care instead of coming to his office even though they were close that day. He’s a joke of a doctor
The PCP is alright and NP is amazing along with the MAs. However, the front desk lady Teressa is absolutely terrible. She does not want to do her job and so she just hangs up and blocks your number if you ask for the physician. Absolutely horrible service.
Doctor was rude about my weight, the fact that(at the time) I smoked, and said I was a terrible patient because I didn’t take care of my health. Then said I most likely had diabetes and high blood pressure, all because of my weight. Kept seeing him hoping it was just a singular bad appointment. Nope. When I became pregnant, he forgot to tell me I could no longer take one of my medications. Terrible experience overall. Only good thing about his location is the dog. He is a straight forward, but kind and compassionate Doctor. The Staff including his lovely wife & daughter make me feel like I'm just part of the family everytime I visit.
Dr Sawka refused to refer me to an ortho specialist for a ruptured biceps tendon. I heard him talking with a NP student in the hallway before coming into the exam room, stating he signs an agreement with the ins co to keep cost down and not make unnecessary referrals. When he came in, he told me he would not write the referral, if I saw a specialist I would have to do it on my own, paying out of pocket. If the specialist recommended surgery he would not approve it. Told me to find another PCP.
I have been a patient of Dr. Sawka for many years and have always felt like he cares about my welfare. He takes all the time you feel you need and answers any question you may have thoroughly. I would not have a problem recommending him to anyone looking for a new doctor. His staff is friendly and helpful. I have never had a problem getting in to see him when i needed to.
Mismanaged care, missed my dad's cancer diagnosis
Dr. Sawka is amazing!! A good friend of mine recommended him and I continue to recommend him. I have been seeing Dr. Sawka for a couple of years. My family also sees him and now I’m going to have my mom see him. He is very professional . He listens to you and is very thorough. He takes his time with you and doesn’t rush. He is very personable , knowledgeable, caring and professional. You are always able to get an appointment the same day. The staff is also friendly.
