Based on my experience with this attorney, my personal opinion is this is an attorney who puts making money off his clients, far, far ahead of looking out for his clients best interests. He was ready to take thousands in legal costs for something that I worked out personally just by having a conversation with the opposing party, which obviously wasn't an option he considered.
