My daughter saw him today and he was amazing!! I love that he took time to explain what was happening in great detail and drew pictures so she could understand (she is still really young, so this was SO helpful) . He talked directly to her and made it fun along the way to help calm her nerves. I highly recommend him, he was incredible!!
We love Dr. Hamaker! My son is almost two years into his Type One Diabetes diagnosis and we have seen a handful of different doctors. Dr. Hamaker has been a favorite! He’s kind and talks to my teenager about his diagnosis in a way that helps him feel seen. By talking directly to my son about his T1D, he helps him feel more in charge of his own health and it always makes for a positive experience. It’s important to me that my son feels that sense of independence while navigates T1D. Dr. Hamaker is wonderful!
Not a fan. Read his notes after I left. Everything he said we talked about, we didn't. In his notes he stated I said that I didn't dose my son for his meals, when I said I did. Not sure if he's all there when you go to his appointments. I also stated I wanted to have a different pump, in the notes he said he was the one that told me to get a pump? Huh?
