Dr. Barter is an older doctor that does things the old fashion way! Sends referrals immediately, answers the phone himself when available, calls the patient himself to follow up! He referred me to a radiologist, and before I got home, they were calling to make my appointment. He's answered my calls to the office himself and spent time with me. Receptionist NORMA was completely rude and degrading when told the insurance was Medicaid for my mother who was referred to Dr. Barter. When I called back to make a complaint I was told the manager was gone and when I told the receptionist I was calling in regards to her poor customer service. She just said well her appointment is now cancelled and cancelled my mother’s appt. She must know she is awful as she wouldn’t even state her name I had to go into the office to get her name. Not even a 1 star should be given. I called this doctor because my pcp referred. All was well until the gal asked for insurance. When I said I had Medicaid all of a sudden I had to go to the office and make the appointment in person and be sure to bring proof! What ashame. There are many reasons why people have Medicaid. Not just the same stigma of poor people on welfare who don't work and are abusing the system. Shame on you Doctor Barter for allowing such discrimination.
