As a family, we just ordered take out for dinner. Have always loved Mario’s, but not tonight. I ordered its mussels in white wine sauce, which I’ve always loved Althea’s. So disappointed: 1. Many shells (eight or nine) empty; 2. Sauce was a watery mix of what I don’t know/no visible garlic; 3. clumps of tomato you’d maybe put on a salad; and last, 4. the addition of an UNOPENED mussel in my dish, which any cook would NEVER, EVER do. amazing Italian food!!!
Ordered two chicken Caesar salads today. Hottest day of the year and was hoping for some relief. None to be found hotter inside than outside. The salads were terrible. Service was awful. Absolutely no eye contact. Sad my family and I have always loved it there. We will not be returning.
I HONESTLY hope the people who used to own Mario's read these reviews & SERIOUSLY consider coming back to make everything be just as it was again. The last 2 pizzas that my family got from them were "eh" at best. The sauce was still good, but the cheese was like gum.
Ate here over the weekend and the food was amazing. My kids had a chicken Parmesan pizza which was really good! They loved it. I had the shrimp scampi which was excellent. Service was great and everyone was very welcoming. I will definitely be back soon! Can’t wait to try some other items!
Tried last night for first time since new owners. Not nearly as good...cheese was different and dry. Go back to the original recipe and we'll come back.
