The first time I visited the Murphysboro office was in 2009 when I first moved to the town. Life happened and we moved around only to return back to the same small town. My experience then was just as pleasant as my most recent visit in the beginning of March. The staff was very welcoming. They got both me and my kids in right away. They answered all of my questions and even handled my struggle to find the perfect frame for my new prescription without one ounce of annoyance. Not great so far. Called the Murphysboro office months ago to make appointments for my two 3 year olds. I go in the day of the appointment to find out that they scheduled it at Carbondale’s location because this one doesn’t allow two family members to have an appointment on the same day. So I then rushed to Carbondale to do the appointments. Just to find out that they were going to do dilation that would make them blurry all day. They called to reschedule my vision appt for an earlier date, I thought great, but after I got my prescription they told me Im not eligible on my insurance for glasses until January, so my prescription will already be a few months old. Kind of shitty, Im taking the prescription and going elsewhere or buying online, shady business. Do not work well with people with IDD, even when told what accommodations are needed, would not allow extra time to process/answer and my friend was told they couldn't give her a new prescription b... read more
I've been to a few of their locations. The Murphysboro location was the worst of all of them. The doctor I saw there was extremely rude. I'll never go back. The Carbondale location was a lot better, but a longer wait.
Robert kippenbrock is not the most child friendly person. Customers service is not up to par either with staff, they seemed annoyed by any questions. Just disappointed! Will be going elsewhere!
