This place used to be great. It has systematically declined. My theory is that it began when they added a 'Tip' choice at payment a couple of years ago. The workers used to be friendly and the interaction was relaxed and I assume they were paid a fair wage, which I think tipping ruins. They also watch you at checkout and grimace if you click 'no tip'. It is awkward and other meat counters are part of 'groceries' and tipping is not customary. Yesterday I went to that very nice place around 5 p.m. The employees are very friendly; I interacted with two of them, and they were both very kind. I asked one of them to give me the freshest liver they had, and he did. They do a great job at that butcher shop. I've been going there for years, but lately it's changed, and they seem to care more about their customers' opinions.
Bad customer service, un friendly, they have the look on the face like when you're ready why are you bothering me... They just losted a value customer..
Quality ranges from really good to inedible. My latest experience happened when I bought a whole chicken, the chicken had every bone but it's legs broken, the skin was missing in places and the odor was off. $20+ out the window. It was so flat that I initially thought it had been butterflied. On other occasions they leave way too much tallow on their beef. Some tallow is ok but when you buy ribeye for $25-30 and literally more than a third of it is fat (checked with my scale), that to me is just not acceptable. So after the ... read more
