After three breast cancer surgeon interviews, I chose Dr Leitch. She was amazing! She spent an hour and a half with me and my husband. This was my second BC. The first surgeon did not get it all. Came back in the surgery sight. Dr. Leitch made sure to get it all this time and she did not MAKE me get a massectomy like the other surgeons were going to do. Reflecting on four years later and thankfully cancer-free, I realize that I never got a chance to express my gratitude for all the work you did (during the height of the pandemic) in 2020 when I was initially diagnosed with invasive breast cancer at another hospital. The mess this surgeon made as result of her disregard, despite our best efforts in informing her on wife’s post surgical bleeding history and connective tissue vulnerability, has been beyond the pale. She decided that the shared, well articulated medical history and examples of atypical bleeding didn’t require heeding.
