Unlike some of the other reviews, we had a great time. Came on a Saturday during the Southland Dr festival. It was busy, but bartenders were attentive. No complaints. Love the remodel. It’s open with far more natural light. We will be back.
Went there Friday night, and the noise was unbelievable. I had to text my friends because you couldn't have a conversation. The echo off the "industrial" decor made it impossible to understand what was being said unless you were yelling at each other. Our waitress was great and very accomodating, bringing us plates, forks and the cake someone brought for my friend's birthday. I didn't appreciate that the gratuity was already added, but this wasn't pointed out to us, so I added another 20%. The food was hot.
I totally understand Marikka's not wanting people to place their drinks on the side of the pool tables or foosball tables but if it's that important to them, why don't they make sure to have some kind of surface or tables nearby? I believe the bouncers have supersonic hearing because before the bottom of my beer completely made contact with the side of the foosball table, one of them descended upon me like impending doom to tell me to put my drink somewhere else. I love this place! Great staff!! Good times and fun!!
If you haven't been to the new Marikka's yet, you should go. The volleyball courts are great and so is the bar. I loved them before the expansion and like them even more now.
