Founded in 1982 as a joint project of the Sisters of Mercy and the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Marian House was initially established in response to the circumstances of women at the Baltimore City Women's Detention Center. Two sisters and a laywoman who served as volunteers at the Detention Center saw women who had been released from jail returning again and again. I went through some tough spots, but in the end Marian House taught me how to be the woman I am meant to be and handle the good and bad situations correctly. I am pleased with the experience I encountered in the program. It's wonderful.
I love the Marian House being here has given me the ability to live life on life terms again. I'm also productive I learned how to be financially stable and set and achieve my goals, thanks for all of the structure and support from the Marian House staff I will always be forever grateful.

This place can not be summed up in mere words!! I can only express my gradittude and appreciation!! This is not just a place where you find recovery. This is a place to call home. They not only help they HEAL!! They care and they spread love and joy! They make woman feel whole and happy and fulfilled. They give you confidence in a time when you have none!! For me.. They gave me my LIFE back!! I couldn't have made it without them. Thanks to everyone!
