This may seem like a touristy place, but come here for the margaritas, they are top notch. Be sure to ask for them sans the sweet and sour.
Fun restaurant...crummy food for price! – Great place to eat for view only!! All of us ordered something different to eat...yuck to all!
I wouldn't bother – Food wasn't horrible but everything else was. Our server said no to every reasonable request we made. The cheese cake was so frozen it crunched.
Dining with oceanview – My friends and I ordered the veggie plate at this Mexican haunt, located at the end of the Santa Monica Pier. The plate was lavishly piled with various Mexican eats; Enough food for three persons, and we were able to taste a little bit of everything. Enchiladas, Quesadillas, tacos, veggies, dips and more. I loved the Quesadillas filled with mushrooms, cheese and onion. The service was very attentive, our glasses were refilled constantly and fresh tacos and dips were brought without asking. The highlig... read more
Clueless on how to treat a customer! – I went to this restaurant with some relatives a couple of Sundays ago. It was a hot day and we wanted to enjoy a margarita or cold beer by the ocean. I took my toddler son who was asleep in his stroller. They sat our group in the patio overlooking the ocean which I was thrilled about, but when they saw that I had my son asleep in the stroller, they requested we take him out of the stroller even though I had explained to them he was napping. After a brief back-and-forth, they sat us anyw... read more
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION – DID I SAY LOCATION!! YOU CANT BEAT ANY RESTAURANT THAT IS AT THE END OF A PIER. THE MARGARITAS AND THE CALAMARI WERE YUMMY!! I HAD THE CLAM CHOWDER AND IT WASNT THE BEST BUT NOT THE WORST. THE CARNITAS WERE A LITTLE BLAND. THE WAITER WAS VERY BUSY, BUT STILL DID A GOOD JOB FOR THE AMOUNT OF TABLES HE HAD. I WOULD RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO HAVE SOME DRINKS AND APPITIZERS WITH AN OCEAN VIEW.
They put the FUN in fundido – The main courses seem a little overpriced at Mariasol, and to tell the truth I've never had them, but there are three great reasons to go there: queso fundido, stiff drinks, and the location. If you like cheese, you will die for the queso fundido with chorizo. It's a giant pot of hot melted cheese with sausage in it, it's so good, and it's the cheapest thing on the menu. The bar is usually empty so the bartenders are happy to mix very strong drinks, and who can beat the location... at the end of... read more
don't bother – I went here with coworkers today. The location is kind of nice, dining near the ocean certainly has it's charms. That said, our meals were really overpriced (especially for lunches) and subpar at best. One coworker described the fish tacos as "fishsticks in tortillas," and I think this sums up the entire restaurant pretty well. The chicken flautas were weak as well, and the sodas watered down. Save your money and walk a few blocks to the border grill. For the same price at lunch you can have a world class mexi... read more
Magnificent Place For Sunsets – I was overwhelmed with Mariasol recent remodeling, The food keeps getting better and better. The Margaritas are very flavorful.
