Since 1921, Margie's has been making its own candy and ice cream, and it still uses only the best ingredients to produce the best product in Chicago. Family owned for generations, this spot has withstood the brutal ups-and-downs of this neighborhood for over 70 years. Well worth a visit, even for the most discriminating sweet tooth.Â

Margie's Candies I'm an ice cream fanatic, and I love this place. Though they could use more flavor choices, one can't go wrong with a yummy hot fudge sundae from Margies. Their hot fudge is warm and gooey. Fun place to hang out.Â
Love This Place This is the best place for those who have a sweet tooth. They have every kind of ice cream dessert imaginable. It is very homey and you can buy different trinkets to take home with you. It is definately a Chicago favorite.Â
My Idea of Dessert Heaven! There's nothing I can say about the joint that hasn't been already said by somebody else, I think. It's definitely a vintage gem. Looks like an old-school ice cream parlor. Is very tasty. Affordable. Convenient. And I'd eat there *EVERYDAY* if I couldn't get fat or become a diabetic. Honest-to-God, people! Their Bananas Foster alone makes me melt with sugary happiness. You gotta try it! lolÂ
Great desserts, Small place I absolutely love this ice cream parlor!! It's been around since the 1920's and still holds most of it's original furniture/decor. The ice cream is divine, and so is the service. However, it gets REALLY crowded in the tiny parlor, especially on weekends. BUT they're open till 12am, sometimes 1am. You have to try their Turtle Banana Split with coconut ice cream!Â

It's a small crowded space, so on nice evenings be prepared to wait if you want a seat (you can just order to go, but the place is part of the charm). I love this place!! They have the best ice cream I have ever had! I love their different dessert creations and all the history that surrounds the store. It is a cozy place and it can satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. PROS: CONS: Parking can be tough.Â
