Very nice hotel. Food is so so if you eat here. Expensive...but its a tourist place so it makes sense. Drinks used to be great, but now they really cut corners by increasing the prices and serving in small plastic cups. Definitely not worth it. The grounds are beautiful and the staff at the restaurant, bar, and front desk are very nice. Parking is a pain in the butt now they require prepaid parking if you are coming to eat or drink here. Its no longer a locals' go to place because of the prices....too many other places offer... read more
Straight forward review. The rooms are clean, & the furniture is good. We had the suite with the stove & fridge etc... we didn't use the stove but the fridge was cold! Appliances looked good & kitchen was equipped. The beach access is perfect! The poolis great very family friendly pool area with lots of seating. Easy access to food & drinks. The main perk is the direct access to the beach. Everything else is a miss. The place feels and looks ran down. From the filthy sliding entrance doors and windows to the dirty carpets. The pool area furniture could use an upgrade because the seat cushions were beyond wear and tear. The rooms are musty, humid, and smell like urine. The room furnishings have noticeable stains and debris. I will not return to this location when visiting SPI.

Great location, amazingly friendly staff and clean rooms! I gave 4 out of 5 just because no microwave making leftovers difficult but everything else was awesome! Would recommend to anyone visiting South Padre!
