Nurse practitioner care for psychiatric illness is the BEST way to go! You get medication management with enough time/therapy for the practitioner/dr to know what your symptoms are- can't be done in 15 minutes in the psychiatric doctor assembly line system. And Maren Rinker is the BEST.
I highly recommend Dr. Rinker. She's super nice and very knowledgable. I struggled with severe anxiety for most of my life and she really helped me find the best med.

A breath of fresh air! She not only listens but hears what you have to say. For some reason I have always felt judged whenever I've seen a mental health provider but that was definitely not the case with Dr. Rinker! At my first appointment she made me feel comfortable and I left feeling optimistic. I have not been disappointed ever since! She is incredibly smart and really knows her stuff but most importantly she is able to that human connection which is so important! Thank you Dr. Rinker!
I saw Maren for the first time in 2013 after seeing several Psychiatrists in a desperate attempt to find just one who knew enough about Benzodiazepine withdrawal to put me on a safe taper. I had developed a Physical Dependence to Xanax (6 yrs). Sadly, every DR I saw cared more about getting me off of Xanax fast vs getting me off safely. Maren was the exception. She put me on a slow comfortable taper which is the safest way. I almost gave up hope.....then there was Maren! Thank you Maren Rinker!
Dr. Rinker has always been very kind and professional with me. I feel like she is listening to what I have to say, and always provides feedback that feels personalized, not generic. She always makes me feel like I'm in a safe, non-judgmental environment, and she is also very accommodating with her schedule. I cannot say enough good things about her and love that she always has my best interests at heart!
