July 2020 during COVID Pandemic- I drove my father for 6 hours to the hospital ER because the clinic specializes in his type of cancer. He was in pain crisis, hadn’t been able to lie down for 2 months due to back, abdomen and leg pain caused by his cancer. Oxycodin wasn’t helping him and different symptoms were appearing. Dr Torres is direct but listened to my concerns. She ordered invasive tests and offered my treatment options to continue to find answers. I am beyond grateful for her expertise.
Incredibly dismissive and under informed of the type of care Mayo pts need. I was instructed by one of my many docs to go to the ER for pain control and was 1.told by this doc "I've never heard of your condition" and 2. She so said "the ER isn't for narcotics". Also I was waiting over an hr before I was out in room, which I am fine with but another gal was taken right back who had just come in BUT she told them she was an employee. Guess what, so am I! I don't advertise that for better care. We are all equal!
Had terrible back pain from a herniated disc pain level was past a ten and last time I was there 2 years ago went straight to ER and I was I surgery the next day. Not this time i was treated like I had a knee scrape and she was gonna put a band aid on it and send me home it was ridiculous she did not acknowledge my back pain she belittled my back pain level because after my wife helped me to the restroom and she came back my wife said he can hardly walk and she said didn't he just go use the restroom? This doctor is the worst doctor I have ever come across. She has no bedside manor. She doesn't care about the person she is taking care of. Extremely rude and insensitive. I am very disappointed with the care I was given, from the nurses to the doctor. Unbelievable.
