The food is not the same as it use to be. Had party last year and everyone raved about food, this year with that same group lots of disappointment.
WARNING!!!!!!!! DO NOT EAT AT MAPLE GARDENS! Let me start by saying we have been loyal customers for many years (with the old owners). We placed an order last night and it was disgusting. The food was greasy and the grease tasted bad. My chicken balls were pink inside and the rice tasted like it had been burned slightly. We spent over $100 dollars which is not a cheap meal. We are so pleased and grateful for the new ownership, our food always taste great, and they have so improved the General tso's chicken from previous ownership. The best place in Whitby and Durham Ontario for Chinese takeout. Aways very fast and reliable. Tim, Mellisa Benoit-Rhodes and family.
We found out today that the restaurant changed hands in October. This has been our go to Chinese restaurant for a number of years. We will be looking for a new one. The won ton soup was salty and had very little meat in it, the sauce on the Cantonese chow mein is not as good as previously, the fried rice was over cooked, the soo gai sauce is now thin, salty and full of mushrooms, nothing at all like what it used to be.
