Bad Everything there is expired. Owner is crazy. When i look at the refrigirated items, it scares me. All the cheese that they carry are old.
Foods from many many countries The first time I entered this store, I was a bit skeptical because it seemed a bit run-down, however, it carried most of the things that I needed. I was very impressed with the big selection and how knowledgeable the owner was. However, some of the things were expensive, and it was questionable as to the freshness of the foods.
Want a variety? This is probably one of the funnest markets I have been to in the states. It has a variety of food from several countries. If you don't mind the crammed isles and dusty feeling you'll be happy with what you can find. The food is something you can't find elsewhere like Canadian candy, Taiwanese sauces and Indian, Egyptian food, you name it, they probably carry it. The owner is very friendly and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. Parking is unconvienient and hard to find. Takes time to pull in, wait for others, wa... read more
Items From Around The World This store carries grocery and gifts that have come from all over the world. They seem to specailize more into the oriant. you can get items from them that you will not be able to find in any other stores unless you go to that country. However it is a little unorganized and can be hard to find what you want. Also sometimes it looks messy. The associates are sometimes nice and sometimes they are rude. The prices are pretty good if you remeber a lot of the items came from overseas. If you into speca... read more
It's a great concept, but... The total lack of organization I can handle. The general messiness I can handle. The outlandish prices I can also handle: after all, they had to be shipped there, and the exchange rate is not always favorable. Dusty boxes I can also handle. Picking up my favorite Norwegian candy bar and realizing it expired 5 YEARS ago, not so much.
Good selection, but that's about it. Many Lands has a good selection of food from around the world, but the layout of the store is unkempt and cramped. Many items are just sitting on the floor on pallets, and I wonder how frequently the stock is rotated. The customer service is also quite lacking. I once had the owner ask me if I wanted to the cash register receipt, because if I didn't, he wanted it so he could roll his own cigarettes.
All Asian Groceries Here! I've never been to a more culturally diverse grocery store as Many Lands. They feature fresh, canned, dried, and boxed items from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, and even Canada, Europe and other places to say the least. The items aren't cheap and sometimes the produce isn't fresh, but for variety and availability in a place as small as Provo, this place is worth a look.
food items from around the world This is a good place to buy food from other countries, especially if you've ever lived somewhere else. A lot of the food is from Asia, but they have stuff from pretty much everywhere. A friend of mine once bought some tasty Russian crackers there. The guy that works there seems to be knowledgeable about the stuff they sell. The place is a little bit dirty, but selection and value are excellent. Just make sure you know what you're buying; if you're not sure, ask.
