We dined at Timberlake's restaurant, about which I had heard wonderful things. In particular, I was looking forward to the quail which I had seen when making the dinner reservations. To my surprise we were handed an extremely limited menu. There was one appetizer, clams, which was overpowered with spice and one ala carte salad, a wedge. Main courses consisted of trout, which i selected...nothing special ... salmon, a $64 steak, hamburgers, and a meatless pasta. Really wonderful atmosphere with antique woodwork throughout and an incredible view of Chetola Lake. I got Mountain Trout that was perfectly prepared with inspired sides. Very creative drinks at the bar and dessert specials
Husband & I came last Saturday. We noticed they had taken down most of Bob Timberlake pics in dining area. New lights on each table. Also waitress informed us they change menu everyday & no substitutes unless food allergies. No ice in tea or water. Prices have doubled. We wanted a steak but not going to pay 64.00 for a Tenderloin. Terrible. We somehow got caught in a menu time warp. In between a summer and winter menu. No appetizers, only one dessert type (bread pudding...seriously?). I've never spent so much and eaten so little. This place is overpriced, way out of the realm of reality. Don't waste your time, we left after we ate and went to Outback for dessert. Just got to Outback for everything and don't waste your time here. Service was good though, it wasn't his fault.
