I was really disappointed with my experience at Manor Birthing Sanctuary. From the moment I walked in, the facility felt old, outdated, cluttered, and unorganized. I understand that appearances aren’t everything, but the overall environment immediately made me uncomfortable. This is my first pregnancy, and I was genuinely excited to visit. I had such a great experience with each midwife and student midwives. Always felt welcomed. I was really looking forward to giving birth here and due to some medical issues causing my pregnancy to be high risk around the 24 week mark, I ended up having an emergency c section at 36 weeks. With that said, Victoria continued seeing me for my prenatal care until we knew for sure if I could give birth vaginally or not. I transferred to manor well into my second trimester and as a first time mom wanted to learn as much about labor and newborns care as possible. Centering was so helpful, just the time set aside to focus on my pregnancy and to ask questions in a busy season was so helpful. (Thanks Fareeda!). I loved the human-ness of the whole experience. From the time I encountered Joan, it was horrible until they transferred me. They use an app to communicate and she didn’t introduce herself, just straight, “you insurance doesn’t cover us,” when in fact it did. My very first appointment she was late opening, and I know she say my car there because you can see the cars parked when you pull in from the employee side. I go in, she’s cleaning. We had a lovely experience here and recommend them fully to any expecting parents near Manor. Thank you to Victoria and the team for a fantastic experience, far better than our hospital birth for our first. And despite not being covered by our insurance, this was DRAMATICALLY cheaper than our first traditional hospital birth!
