After having a cancer diagnosis and 35 radiation treatments, I was still having complications. I visited several doctors before finally being referred to Dr. Mannion. He did a very thorough exam and explained that he felt I still had cancer on my vocal chords. A biopsy soon confirmed this. Dr. Mannion took the time to explain exactly what My treatment options would be (post radiation) and answer every question I had. He made me feel very comfortable, and not so scared. I ended up with a total laryngectomy and several lymph n... read more
He found a large, malignant, well-hidden mass close to the spine of the tongue, and toward the rear Removed it without causing any loss of tongue function, and got all of it the first time Given the size and particularly the location of the mass, a frequent outcome is lymphatic cancer within the first year after surgery, (as numerous lymph nodes are in the same area of my surgery site). That was over three years ago, and he's told me I'm now, no more or less likely to have recurrent tongue cancer, or lymphatic problems than ... read more
We are very pleased with Dr Mannion. He successfully performed oral surgery to remove cancer in my father's jaw with very little scarring. In addition, he has been very compassionate and caring during all the post surgical visits. I would HIGHLy recommend Dr. Mannion.
Dr. Manion saved my life. As a physician, I realize that medical care is a combination of art and science. Dr. Manion embodies both, with excellent bedside manner and skilled surgical technique. James V. Ferguson MD, FACP
My husband and I were introduced to Dr. Mannion in January, 2016, for treatment for my husband's base of tongue cancer. We connected with him immediately and were so impressed by his ability to explain to us in layman's terms exactly what we were dealing with and what our options were. He treated us as if my husband was his only patient. He has a way a making you feel so comfortable that you are not afraid to ask any question imaginable. We are so thankful that Dr. Mannion is our ENT ONC!
Dr. Mannion is an amazing doctor and surgeon. He takes time with each patient and makes sure that you are comfortable with the information and plan of treatment. He is caring, meticulous and intelligent. I've had some great surgeons, but haven't had someone with such a great bedside manner as well.
When no one else would try to touch the mass sitting at the base of my skull, Dr Manion successfully got enough of a sample (by going through my nose) to diagnose the malignant tumor. Not the outcome I wanted but what was needed to get my treatment underway. I had to come from Atlanta to see him and it was well worth the trip. Stage IVb nasopharyngeal carcinoma and I'm still here almost two years later. Five stars? Nah... 10 stars at least.
Dr Mannion treats you like you are his only patient, listens to you and explains everything as well and as much as the patient would like.
