I purchased a Honda Fit seven years ago from Manly Honda Santa Rosa.I was persuaded by the financial department to take out a $2000 insurance policy that would cover me for a major problem like the computer system for example going out. I felt that the chances of something like this happening to a new car within 7years were probably unlikely but the way they put it, this was a no lose situation as I would get a full refund after 7 years if I made no claims. Extended Warranty Fraud – Basically fraudulent. Financial manager tries to sell you the extended warranty (5 year / 100,000 mi) whichever comes FIRST...for $3500. They TELL you that they will refund you the entire amount in 5 years/ 100,000 mi, whichever comes first, if you don't use it.
