I’m deeply disappointed with how my experience was handled. My car was towed here by insurance, and I emailed ahead to ask about retrieving personal items still in the vehicle. I was told a sweep would be done and that pickup could be arranged. We were given 7 days to accept a salvage offer, which we did—assuming we could collect our belongings during that window. Unfortunately, my experience with Manheim Auction in Moorebank, near Liverpool, NSW, was very disappointing. I won an online auction for a car, but after the auction ended, I was told I could not purchase it because I didn’t have a “reserve” in place. Without my consent, they withdrew over $500 from my account as a deposit. When I asked for the money back, they refused, saying it was because I had given them zero feedback. On top of that, they tried to offer me the same car at almost twice the price, which felt very unfair. ... read more
