I’m very unhappy with Manhattan life. I’ve been paying into them for awhile, and my policy is situated to where I can claim benefits for a year. I’ve used them three times, and each time it’s like pulling teeth to receive payments. The first two claims, I was only out for 2-3 months(again, I can be out for a year), the latest claim that I put in for, I actually put in for the entire year, you know, WHAT I PAY FOR. Unfortunately, I have had a very disappointing experience with this company with both claims I have filed. I had a claim 5 years ago for a knee injury that they refused to honor because I had been treated for arthritis of the knee previously The injury I filed for was a meniscal tear, which required surgery. Because I had been treated for arthritis in the past, they deemed it a "pre-existing" condition and refused to honor my claim. I recently had carpal tunnel surgery and was out or work for a month.
