I went to the Schaumburg location last night. Illuminati’s used to be my favorite pizza. I have it about every six months last night. I went again to Schaumburg location and ordered a salad and some calamari put grated cheese on it cause I like cheese and everything when the pizza came out, we put cheese on it only to notice that there was a live fly in our cheese grater, the cheese container it grossed me out. I'm a 100% service disabled veteran on a fixed income living in the Freedom's Path Housing complex in the Hines VA Hospital campus and I've been sicker than ever and my brother-caregiver ordered and paid $65 for dinner at 3pm only to learn that the delivery would be here at 4:55pm which I wouldn't have done in the 1st place had I known that. This company, or should I say its employees, are an absolute disgrace to the brand. This used to be a staple of the Chicago area and my god, what a fall from grace. Had been ordering Lou’s every Monday for my employees, but after a bad experience at the EGV location last week I reached out to corporate who assured me the district manager would call me back that same day. An entire week later and that manager couldn’t find 5 minutes to call me back. Maybe customer service is not the job for that person. Absolutely shameful.
I’ve been a longtime customer and used to genuinely enjoy the pizzas at Lou Malnati’s. But over the past few years, the quality has noticeably declined—less consistency, and significantly higher prices that have gone far beyond inflation. It seems like they used post-pandemic inflation as cover to raise prices and never rolled them back.
