Terrible office staff. I've been seeing Jennifer the NP for over 9 years. I made an appointment 4 weeks ago. They called me 1 time to tell me my insurance messed up my PCP, so I fixed that. I called today (day of my appt) to confirm cause I didn't hear from them today. The girl says "well you're new patient, so because we didn't hear back we canceled your appt". Worst patient education and hidden fees I have ever experience. My husband I went to visit for the first time Dr. Abel and she told my husband and I we needed several lab tests. My husband said that is fine, BUT he would like them to be covered under insurance. She said oh these will be covered. A couple of days later, we receive a bill for $250 for the lab tests and insurance stated Dr. Abel included tests that were outside the scope of a wellness exam. I signed up with Dr. Buelvas on Jan 2, 2024. It took until June before he had an available appt to see me! Until then I worked with his nurse practitioner, Alicia and Front Desk staffer, Michelle. I would leave messages on the Advent Health portal, but they didn't reply. When I called on the phone, it was like I was bothering them. Meanwhile many times Alicia was working from home and not available (?!). When I finally saw Dr. Buelvas, he sent me for blood work. One star is generous, We just switched to a new insurance and tried to make an appointment with the Dr. We were told that it would be 4 months before we can see the Dr after a initial visit with the PA. The PA also messed up my prescriptions that I was taking by submitting the wrong script. I've been trying to contact the office to get it resolved. It has taken over 24hrs to get a call back. Good thing I'm not ill. Choose a different office because they don't care about patients.
Dr. Buelvas is a fantastic primary care physician, he explains everything so you have a full understanding of your care. Great staff makes great care. Thank you all.
