I'm a retired veterinarian, and I had taken one of my dogs for an MRI to evaluate chondral lesions and possible tenosynovitis suggested by radiography taken a few weeks prior. I made my appointment specifically for this purpose. CT is superior for the imaging of bone; MR is the preferred imaging for soft tissue, which includes both the tendons affected by tenosynovitis and chondral lesions.
