This is nothing more than an expensive Hampton Inn. Elevators are sometimes out, room climate control is mid at best, and housekeeping is inconsistent. I’d advise you keep your expectations low, and quite frankly to stay elsewhere for the money
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Magnolia Hotel. The service was great and Chad at front desk was very friendly and even upgraded us to a suite and gave us free valet parking. Then everything went wrong. The A/C went out so our room eventually got up to 78 degrees, there was a roach in our bathroom, the shower was neither hot nor cold and had low pressure, the elevators were slow and small, the ceilings had water stains, and the parking attendants gave us the wrong keys. Extremely disappointing check-in experience. Our scheduled check-in time was 4:00 PM, and it is now 7:00 PM and we are STILL waiting for our room with no meaningful update. We had an event to attend and specifically needed to be out the door by 6:30 PM. Instead, we’ve spent the entire evening waiting around for a room that was supposed to be ready three hours ago. I went to this hotel this weekend and please do not get me wrong. The hotel is very nice. I actually like the hotel however, upon arriving, there were two people at the desk the lady that was at the desk didn’t acknowledge us at all. She knew that we were Waiting there since we was the only ones there at that time and she looks over to the gentleman and says can you help them? Dad and son soccer trip which has become horrendous. Gold lifetime Marriott member review. Location is excellent. Short walk to anything downtown. I reserved a room at this location weeks ago following soccer matches in nearby O’Fallon during the day. Pre-checked in online at 4pm on the drive in. Arrived at hotel location a few minutes before 5pm to a long check-in line and to be told “no room was ready - your room will be ready in a few minutes”.
