I went in to see Dr. Madsen for a regular medication management visit. He informed me that it was “dangerous” for me to be taking certain medications; a perspective which counters the most recent evidence released by the NIH. I also have been given clearance in the past to take said medications by TWO different specialists. He switched the prescription formulation of one of these medications (that I have been taking for years) without discussing it with me, and refused to change the prescription back without scheduling anoth... read more
As his patient for over 15 years, Dr. Madsen has provided thoughtful, compassionate and well-informed medical care and advice. He is an excellent listener and demonstrates the rare ability to explain medical issues in easily understandable terms. His disarming personality and sense of humor places him in “Super Doc” category in my book.
Damn Good Doc.
Great as a family practitioner but when it comes to more serious topics he seems to struggle with taking it seriously, slowing down and taking the time to really sit there with his patients and or in case of mental health related phone calls, they are hard to get a hold of.
Madsen Family Medicine Review - Did not upload my sons records to the Washington State Immunization Registry - Rescheduled twice the day of his appointment because "Something came up" - Sent our bill to collections two weeks after our appointment - Their office refused to release immunization records to our new pediatrician until we paid our dues, and refused to release his growth charts. Madsen Family Medicine is unprofessional and unethical. I recommend Mt. Spokane Pediatrics down the street.
I think Dr. Lon Madsen is like the detective Colombo of doctors! The best in the medical field as far detection of illness goes. He really listens, spends time and sincerely cares for his patients well being. When you leave Dr. Lon's office your questions are answered and you have a all around good feeling!
I was a long time patient and thought that I was valued as such. Until I was forced to switch insurance companies and then sent sent a letter by Dr Madsen stating that he was withdrawing as my physician. No explanation..... Nothing.
Very congenial, easy going manner, took the time to ask and answer questions. We are new to the area, and several folks highly recommended Dr. Madsen.
After my former physician retired several years ago, I had a tough time finding someone who could match his sensitivity, bedside manner, and willingness to take the time to discuss matters. Basically, be a friend with the skills to talk to you, become involved, and to treat and diagnose. Lon Madsen was my father's health care physician for the final few years of his life. He did a great job, and so I started going to Dr. Madsen. I have never regretted it. He's like a medical part of my family.
