After vacillating on whether to still color or to let it grow out, I finally tried M-R (Madison-Reed) in downtown Bethesda for my roots. Experience was good enough to go back 2 months later and sign up for their 6 week roots touch up subscription— which is handy and easy for me to get to by bus, avoiding the parking expiration hassles and panhandling at the Bethesda parking lots. They forgot about me and left the color on too long. It’s now much too dark. Update: Madison Reed offered to have me come back for a "color correction" but refused my request to also issue a refund since after the correction I will likely need to have my re-colored soon after so I can get a color that will match the colors they have available for root touch-ups, which was the whole reason I went there in the first place.
