I had an ankle problem after playing tennis in Feb 09...It didn't get better so I went to my Orthopedic Surgeon. After seeing him twice (NO MRI) and not getting better, I went to see Dr. Madden who had been highly recommended. He diagnosed my problem as a pulled calf muscle. He DID NOT order an MRI...He said it would get better in two weeks...He said I did not need a brace...I told him I was going to our Lake Cottage for four weeks...I would be walking on uneven ground. Dr. Madden is a very good doctor , he explains everything very thoroughly. I had a knee problem which was mis- diagnosed by another orthopedic doctor, now i am able to do things i couldn't do before. Thanks to him and his nurse.
I have not had the same wonderful experience as others. I wait for an hour for his appointment and get a 1 minute visit. He explain little. I had knee surgery 8/08 and he didn't do what he said he was going to do. His nurses are so rude I do not want to go back. Unfriendly and unpleasant.
I have been to Doctor Madden for several Orthopaedic surgeries for different injuries. He took the time to carefully explain exactly what was happening with the injury and what would happen with the surgery. His approach was that he and the patient would work to do everything to get the patient back to pre-injury capabilities. His is very practical and personable. He obviously cares a lot about his patients. His staff was excellent.
Dr. Madden is without a doubt one of the best doctors I have seen. He is a very friendly person, and advocates multiple ways of healing. He has preformed multiple orthoscopic surgeries on my knees (all needed because of unintentially self-caused injuries), and I have recovered very well. Dr. Madden is always capable of finding a solution!
