OMG! I can!'t believe how rudely I was spoken to by the staff at the hotel. I wasn't even allowed to talk to the manager. I will start at the beginning... I checked out of the the Mackinaw Bay Inn and Suites Thursday 8/14 and sadly left 2 coats behind in my room. When I realized, I was already 4 hours into my drive home. I called and housekeeping found the coats and the manger insured me that he would put them aside. I gave me instructions on how to have them shipped back to me, which I proceeded to do. I was hesitant to book a night here given all the negative reviews but our stay was pleasant and there was absolutely nothing negative to say. Right on water with views of Lake Huron from our room. We used pool and hot tub (a little small )- was adequate . Would stay here again . Huge 2 room suite .

A 10 minute walk from one of the ferrys makes it a good place to stay. I liked the layout of the rooms, where one bed was right when you walk in, then the bathroom, and then another bed, made areas more "private". We had a balcony with a nice view and you could see the bridge. The beach has some firepits on it that were being used at night, though not sure if I'd swim here. Overall, a good experience.

The hotel itself was nice, in a good area, next to another hotel or maybe some apartments or something and at times the people at the nearby residence were playing their music kind of loudly. Unfortunately my poor review of the place comes from the customer service. The employee that was working there the night that I checked in was amazing.
