Hired mackereth to install a synthetic slate roof at our house. mackereth subbed work to a company called brunet exteriors who did a terrible job. biggest mistake of our renovation. Update - roof has major issues. have spent more on repairs than original roof cost not including interior damage costs. daryl claims he has no responsibility for the workmanship altho he contracted the sub... thats a cop out. GC is responsible for the sub not the customer.

CONTRACTORS BEWARE: Mackereth Contractors is a company that does not pride itself on professionalism or integrity. They don't pay for services rendered or communicate or follow up. From promised payments to bounced cheques, this business is better off closed. Owner Darryl Mackereth does not believe in honest communication, or fulfilling contractual obligations. As a result we will be forced into taking legal action. Please use this as a cautionary notice and avoid doing business with them as a consumer or contractor.

32 weeks to complete our kitchen! We were verbally told that it would take somewhere between 8-12 weeks. Very little to non existent communication from Darryl. Numerous unanswered calls and emails. There was never any transparency why it took them so long to complete our project; all we kept getting were excuses after excuses and Darryl always seemed to "be out of town". The major reno done in late 2019 was a positive experience for the most part. The follow-up in 2023 for issues that have developed is non existent, emails and phone calls have been ignored by the Mackereth team. So much for customer service and a 5 year warranty. September 25/2023: Happy to report that the issue has now been resolved.
