A minor peeve of mine - do not call me by my first name if you don't know it. Medical practices tend to believe they have the right to use a given first name. Some of us have nicknames, so using a given name is faux friendship. It is safer to address somebody by Mr./Mrs./Miss/Ms. "last name" until given permission to us a first name, and then the patient will offer the proper salutation to use.
