Poor office management, frequent rescheduling due to office requests, long wait times despite appointments
When I reviewed my bill, i had a charge for 'Measure for eye lens implant' I had not agreed to having an eye lens implant. I called to find out why it was done. It's just automatic!!! So I was charged $130 for because they could. Also would never use Dr Mac. Seperate review was written before I saw the bogus charge.
Dr Mac came in told me he would be talking to assistant, giving her info to put in system. They rattled off a bunch of numbers, told me I had glaucoma, would send drops and for me to come back in a few weeks. AND he was gone. I got nothing personal, nothing explained to me. It was just too quick with nothing personal, caring or explained what I had. Gave me a brochure for me to read, but didn't go over any of it. The papers they gave me when I left was 4 pages of numbers which means nothing to me.
This doctor wants to operate. Second opinion said I did not need it yet. Advertising laser line he is the only office that can do it.
I went to see Dr. Mac after an adverse reaction to the second Moderna vaccine. Dr. Mac was completely dismissive and told me it was nothing more than dry eyes, which never were an issue prior to receiving the vaccine. In addition, he scheduled plugs to be put in my eyes for my follow up appointment without even discussing it with me or checking on my progress. I did not return.
I had the cataract surgery LenSx with Dr Mac and I am very grateful for his excellent skills and this procedure. I was in and out in an hour andI could do it in their Center, No hospitals! He communicates and listens extremely well through out the procedure. Dr. Mac and staff were very precise and followup was also excellent. After surgery I could see better when I was twenty. The best part I don't have to wear glasses, for distance or near. I am so happy with the process/results that I have told everyone I know about it.
Dr. Mac and the entire staff at Metrolina Eye exemplify all that is best in medical care. Kind, respectful, communicative, efficient, and engaged with their patients all through the process of caregiving. I recommend Dr. Mac and his team wholeheartedly to patients of any age.
I know Dr. Mac meant well, but I asked him if it was possible for my vision to get worse with vitrolysis. He assured me that it might not fix everything, but it could not get worse. I spent a lot of money and had three laser treatments, each time my vision got worse until my vision was drastically obstructed. I recently went to a new surgeon who did a vitrectomy and I am finally able to see again! Dr. Mac should just be honest and tell people that vitrolysis does not work for everybody.
Couldn't ask for anything better
