I've been a customer with MAC5 for two years and have had them run electric wiring and install a new air conditioner and water heater. They have been one of the best service companies I have dealt with across the country (retired military). That said, they almost lost my business when my one-year old water heater failed and it took a week and a half to fix with three technician visits. I had given them a 5 star review when they installed a new water heater on my house when I was overseas, but then I had no idea they “automatically”, without my consent or knowledge, enrolled me on a “service contract” charging me $10.99 monthly since then. After discovering the bogus charge, called them for a refund and cancellation. They were not exactly “friendly” and informed they will get back in up to 48h. Beware when delaying with them.
I appreciate the services provided, the professionalism and quick availability. I have no complaints about their service; however, the charge is TOO HIGH. I was charged $340 to clear a drain line that took only 30 minutes. I am sure the time the Technician started his drive to our house was included in the fee but even still it too much. I will not use Mac 5 anymore. Other service companies are cheaper.
Had to edit this company. They may be good just be aware of extra charges. And the neighbor plan. They charged us over 400 dollars for a piece They said has to be fabricated. They brought a piece of flashing and cut it while they were here. I now use Dittmer. Very good and reasonable prices. 7/15/2025 I just today saw there response. It wasn't the smell I was reviewing. Water had gotten in the a/c ducting at the unit. That was pretty much fixed. It was how much they charged for a piece of flashing, and the fast talking sales... read more
